GUIDELINES FOR NEW KAP FACULTY APPOINTMENT
For faculty appointment the following steps must be following in the order given prior to the formation of the KAP class
- Our instructors & KAP professors have to meet first with each other at Kenyon.
- When the Kenyon professor approves Peter will let the Steering Committee Representative know of the approval.
- The high school principal nominates officially with a recommendation letter and a resume to Peter Rutkoff. Note: KAP faculty need to have or be in the process of obtaining an advanced degree.
- Provost at Kenyon appoints new faculty officially.
- The new instructor attends the Summer Workshop. (offered usually every other summer)
- KAP also requires that ALL KAP secondary attend the annual Convocation. (first Saturday in November) Attendance of both of these development opportunities is the single most important part of our collaboration. They are normally held at the same time of the year annually, so you can plan ahead easily.
- E-mail the KAP assistant director informing her that you have been approved. (KAP.kenyon.edu)
- Submit a W-9 form (found on the kaphelp.org website) and a digital photograph of yourself in order to obtain a Kenyon I.D. card and receive KAP stipends and reimbursements.
- Submit your syllabus for posting on the kaphelp.org website. <http://kaphelp.org/faculty/submit-syllabus-mainmenu-526>
Please share this with your principals, headmasters, and guidance counselors. This is absolutely crucial for us to maintain our grading and content standards and hence the credibility of the KAP program.
